MOOMINS 2.0

TV Serie - Concept Artist

In March 2016 I worked as concept artist during the very early stage of this project directed by Steve Box. It was still named Moomins 2.0 during this development stage and eventually became Moominvalley. At that time the artistic team was minimal: Steve Box developping the scripts, Kartika Mediani working on the characters and storyboards, and I, doing early inspirational concepts and then colour keys for a future CGI test piece. The artistic and production teams in charge of the final Moominvalley episodes came later on board.
I was only on the project for a short time, but working on the world created by Tove Jansson was incredibly inspiring! The images below are a mix of my own compositions/layouts and paintings done using Tove Jansson’s b&w illustrations as base. (I only signed the paintings I created from scratch.)
